The Council of the European Union is proposing a ban – contrary to the version approved by the Parliament in plenary session – on specific plastic packaging in the fruit and vegetable and horeca sectors, basing the decision on impact assessments that, in our opinion, are flawed and inconsistent. The approval of this proposal would have serious consequences, not least the loss of eur 15,380m in turnover and 133,000 jobs.
